Kapuso Overload!

This is the pilot episode of Celebrity Duets now on its third season. Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid still hosts the show, the judges of Season 2 still stays for the new season namely Freddie Santos, Tessa Prieto-Valsez and Danny Tan.

MMDA Chairman Bayani "BF" Fernando is the champion of the second season of Celebrity Duets: Lets Duet Again!, taking the crown against his fellow final three celebrities Joey Marquez and JC Buendia. In fairness, BF sang (together with Basil Valdes) his piece well than the other two.

JC Buendia duets with Franco Laurel for the song "With A Little Help From My Friends".

Danny - "Nakulangan ako... I was looking for the "Tatak", the production value, the visual feast..."
Tessie - "I kinda liked this, I can concentrate on JC's voice... you're good, you're super galing."
Freddie - "Sinimplehan mo yung production, I'm glad... unfortunately yung areglo ng musika was complicated..."



Meanwhile

Carlene Aguilar duets with Mocha for the song "Lady Marmalade".

Freddie - "Pakonti ng pakonti ang mga sinusuot mo ano... I'm waiting for something new and something more... more music."



Danny - "Yung confidence ni Carlene to hit the high notes malaki na... very very good improvement."
Tessie - "You're so pretty darling... I love you're voice, but there are some points where your co-performer over powered you."

Bayani "BF" Fernando duets with Pinky Marquez for the song "Amor" by Julio Iglesias.

Tessie - "What can I say... you're so galing... I'm so impressed."



Freddie - "Primero poco sintunado, pero ultimo bueno, bueno..."
Danny - "Nandun pa rin yung strong harmony... para sakin ito ang weakest performance mo...siguro sa choice of song..."

Joey Marquez duets with Pekto for the song "Sex Bomb" by Tom Jones.

Danny - "Para sa akin, ikaw ang total performer ng Celebrity Duets... you deserve to be in the finals."



Tessie - "You know what, you're so galing... I love you na..."
Freddie - "Nagawa mo na to e... ngayon nagtataka ako, anong nangyari?... Celebrity Duets e, hindi Celebrity Performance..."

The Fab Four - Joey Marquez, JC Buendia, Bayani Fernando, and Carlene Aguilar - sang a VST Medley for the opening presentation of Celebrity Duets: Let's DUET again!


Tessa is absent for this episode, and as their guest judge, Tessie Tomas made a very convincing impersonation of Tessa, as Tessa Pinirito-Valdez.

Chairman Bayani "BF" Fernando duets with Asia's Queen of Songs Ms. Pilita Corrales for the song "Sway". As usual, expect some bone-breaking-bending from Ms. Pilita and from the Chairman himself!

Danny - "Napansin ko si BF lang ang nag-haharmonize consistently at lumalabas yung harmony palagi... very good, very good."


Tessa - "You're unstoppable... you're gonna win for sure."
Freddie - "Para kayong Skyway... hindi pa tapos pero maganda habang ginagawa..."

JC Buendia duets with Lovie Poe for the song "You Can't Hurry Love" by Phil Collins. I wonder what's the bedroom theme all about.

Freddie - "Ang slumber party na ito, nagkaroon ng konting bangungot... silang dalawa nakatutok sa teleprompter... awa ng Diyos natapos din..."


Danny - "Inaabangan ng tao palagi yung next na gagawin niya next week... it's a visual feast for the televiewers..."
Tessa - "You should already be enjoying na, but I can still feel you're nervous..."

Joey Marquez duets with Kuh Ledesma for the song "With You I'm Born Again". It was a very nice song, very nice rendition by Kuh. For Joey, well...

Tessa - "That was absolutely so beautiful..."


Freddie - "Kung gagawa man ng CD, yan, yan ang pinakaunang release single dapat..."
Danny - "Kanina para akong nanonood ng isang concert ng isang seasoned performer na nag-duduet..."

Carlene Aguilar duets with Maureen Larrazabal for the song "Please Don't Stop The Music" by Rihanna. I noticed that they are not in tune with the music. The live band didn't catch up with them quickly and, as for my opinion only, their performance was kinda irritating.

Danny - "OK ang choice of song, yan ang bagay sa iyo... And a very good performance."


Tessa - "I really feel na finals na talaga, grabe... sizzling hot."
Freddie - "Please, don't stop the Carlene..."

Designer JC Buendia transforms into a Geisha in his performance with Allan K for the song "Turning Japanese".

Tessa - "I enjoyed that so much... this is really, really fun. Really nice production."

Freddie - "Production number, hanep... so far this is the one that has worked the best for you in terms of singing..."
Danny - "Performance wise maganda yung energy... (but) it was a choppy performance... kailangan may fluidity..."

Certified heartthrob Phil Younghusband duets with the dashing Eula Valdez for the song "Can't Take My Eyes Off You". Phil was introduced (via VTR) by his older (and equally handsome) brother James.

Danny - "You are the most improved performer... kudos to you for giving it all."

Tessa - "Phil, I can't take my eyes off of you... you're not only cute but you can also sing..."
Freddie - "I had a nickname for you already - Kenneth - Kenneth sing, Kenneth dance... Tonight, you're proving me wrong."
