This is the pilot episode of "Zorro". GMA bought the rights to adapt the Mexican legendary fencer, Zorro for Philippine television.
In preparation for Zorro, Richard Gutierrez and the whole cast started training for fencing and horse riding, which most of the previous characters of films and television shows had done. They also had Spanish lessons because the show's set is of the year 1800's in which Philippines was colonized by the Spaniards.
